Everyone's favourite wiseguys are back on TV but UK fans will have to wait to get the skinny on The Sopranos' latest scams. The Sopranos are back on screen running a powerful crime organisation and grappling with life's hardships in the HBO hit's sixth season. But British viewers will have to wait for the series to hit UK screens sometime later this year on E4 and Channel 4. The cast and crew feted the first episode's premiere on the red carpet at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City. Edie Falco who plays Carmela, the wife of mobster Tony Soprano, said she's happy to be back, but doesn't really feel the show's hiatus has had a big impact on the cast or viewership. Falco says this season has some surprises in store for fans. Insiders hinted that Carmela's story line has a few twists and takes her and friend Rosalie, on a cross-continental trip. Cast mates Michael Imperioli who play's Tony's nephew Christopher and Lorraine Bracco who plays Tony's shrink Dr Melfi, were also on hand for the premiere. Imperioli attributed the show's success to the writers and crew, whom he says raise the bar and make the production so spectacular. He said: 'The story of these outlaws who have these kind of elements of loyalty and family - I think that's an appealing thing, but it's executed really well.' Imperioli says in the upcoming season his character struggles with the loss of his beloved girlfriend Adrianna. Tony Sirico, who plays Paulie Walnuts, one of Tony's trusted clan members, said his character is in for a ride in the sixth season. He said: Well, Paulie's got problems this year. We'll leave it at that. He's got some big issues.' In the upcoming season, Tony's life becomes increasingly complicated. Since reuniting with estranged wife Carmela, Tony faces new challenges looking after his family and is bogged down with managing tense relations between the New Jersey and New York crime families.
