Railfanning in Grafton, OH: 7-22-08

Railfanning in Grafton, OH: 7-22-08

[Watch in High Quality] Copyright 2008 ConrailForever After I hung out in Berea for about an hour, me and my mom sarted working our way west down the CSX mainline, and then we found Grafton. It seems to be a nice little town with places to eat and places to find things to munch on while railfanning. The best spot to stop and watch the action is near the Main Street Crossing. That is where the CSX mainline and one of CSX's shortlines cross via diamonds. The Short line has 2 trains every day and the tower which you can see in the left of the screen in the approaching shot of the last 2 trains used to operate right next to the grade crossings. (Information creditted to 89sayers. Thanks!) It makes for good shots and that great sound of tons of goods cross the diamonds. Train 1: Eastbound CSX at the route 82 Crossing. I have no idea what town we were in or anything like that. Train 2: Eastbound CSX Intermodal train in Grafton Train 3: A Northbound train on the Shortline with CSX power. I had to run around the back of the semi to get the train going around the curve! The caboose was also a nice find! Train 4: Westbound CSX intermodal train Train 5: Westbound CSX mixed freight
