PitchWise - festival of women arts 2007PitchWise is rooted in the idea that the transformative power of art can mobilize an individual to make the needed changes in one's life without expecting dramatic transformations, but rather to find inspiration and strength in the process which is in itself the carrier of change.

The aims of PitchWise are twofold – primarily to create a platform for networking and artistic exchange between artists, activists, and students, youth and other publics; while to ensure that achievements of women are visible and acknowledged, celebrating and empowering women worldwide..

In gathering diverse audiences with activities such as exhibitions/art installations, concerts, performances, poetry readings, art making sessions, film screenings, lectures/discussions and street activism, PitchWise Festival is a unique space for sharing, exploring, exchanging ideas and networking.

PitchWise – the first festival of women arts demonstrates the energy and power of art-driven individuals from all walks of life who are combining various artistic expressions with their personal sense of social responsibility, embracing fresh, vibrant and alternative reality in culture of BiH and the region.

PitchWise is the place of belief that arts in combination with activism and social - change - driven activities present the very much needed balance in our daily life, ensuring that we can both make the changes in our environment while remaining intact with our individual needs and expression.


Second, PitchWise will be held from Thursday to Tuesday 6-11 September in Sarajevo at the Museum of History of Bosnia and Herzegovina numerous dynamic event and exhibitions, creative workshops, lectures, performances, concerts, street actions and plenty surprises.
This year, the program at PitchWise is international as opposed to last year's focus on the region of former Yugoslavia and Southeastern Europe. The content includes the Guerrilla Girls, Katja von Garnier and Iron Jawed Angels, Sanja Ivekovic, Diyala, Komikaze and much much more: workshops, lectures, exhibitions, performances, conceerts, ...
