Macquarie's Jerram Says Japan 'Clearly Not in Recession': Video
Richard Jerram, chief economist at Macquarie Securities Ltd., talks with Bloomberg's Catherine Yang from Tokyo about the impact of rising inflation and slowing exports on Japan's economy, and the outlook for the yen and Bank of Japan monetary policy. January core consumer prices, which exclude fresh food, rose 0.8 percent in January from a year earlier, the same pace as December, the statistics bureau said today in Tokyo. Household spending climbed 3.6 percent from a year earlier and unemployment held at 3.8 percent for a third month. (Source: Bloomberg)
