Kobe Bryant 26 points 6 steals in USA White vs. Blue game In a 40 minute scrimmage, the game turned into a very competitive scoring match instead of a friendly game. There were many signs of this as Kobe tightly guarded and bumped his man every time on defense while giving that glare in the face. Kobe had dropped 19 pounds. Even despite getting too competitive Kobe played a very team oriented 26 points while playing 33 minutes. His quickness was very apparent as he got 6 steals including 4 in the 1st half, most of which were against the speedy Lebron James. In the 1st quarter Kobe was rather quiet playing a team game. In the next quarter USA blue went down 10 and were struggling from the perimeter. Kobe then made 3 straight long threes to become the leading scorer at the half. Then for the next half Kobe again played a team game letting Carmelo Anthony and Kevin Durant go off. In the final moments after letting Melo and Durant chip away from another 10 point lead, Kobe tied the game at 101 with a minute to play. Kobe then made another fadeaway over Lebron to take the lead. Chris Bosh made 1 of 2 free throws setting the stage for Bryant. With over 20 seconds left Kobe dribbled the clock down with an elite defender Tayshaun Prince guarding him. Kobe faked, rose up into his signature shot, and swished in a long jumper to give team USA Blue the lead. Kobe was not done. With 6 seconds left, Lebron got the ball and Kobe harrassed him into taking a tough one handed floater and What was supposed to be a friendly game turned into a big win for USA Blue. Kobe finished the game with 26 points, 6 steals, 4 assists, 3 rebounds on 10-22 shooting including 4-9 from 3 point land. Other game notes: What was probably the best highlight of the day was Kobe stealing from Lebron leading to a fast break. Going 1 on 2, Kobe had a reverse dunk blocked by Kobe which may have fueled him to make those shots over Lebron in the end.
